About Us
Bombay Recycling Concern (BRC) is a registered social enterprise addressing post-consumer textile waste management by empowering the used clothes recycler community, traditionally known as Bhandiwale/Bartanwale in Mumbai.
BRC promotes Reuse, Repair, and Reintroduction of secondhand clothing to benefit underprivileged urban and rural populations while providing livelihoods for the recycler community through organized markets.
These markets make affordable clothing accessible to those in need and sustain the six-decade-old barter trade system of the Devipujak (Waghari) communities, who exchange used clothes for new utensils across major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
